(This is the Welcome Message that went out in the User Invitation)

Hello CC2009 State Coordinator,

Welcome to the Continental Congress 2009 Basecamp Project Managment website, aka Basecamp!
Once you click through the link above and log in, please add this site to your Bookmarks, or Favorites or create a shortcut on your desktop, for easy reference.

You will begin getting notifications via email of the activities and updates for the Continental Congress 2009 from the National Management Team and you can always click through to this tool via links in those email notifications.

In case you don't have a bookmark or desktop shortcut saved, and you can't find an email notification, to get to the Login Page for Basecamp you can always go to www.cc2009.us and go to the Resources Link at the top of the page and under there is a Category/Link to the CC2009 Basecamp.

If you are worried about managing yet another website, fear not... if you can hit Reply to an email notification and type your comments/questions or feedback in an email, then you will automatically be contributing to the Basecamp dialog.

(Note: the Email addresses and phone #'s for every State Coordinator (SC) and national management member and authorized vendors are inside Basecamp (BC) too.)

<<<< But Don't Just Take Our Word For It!  From the www.basecamphq.com website:
“The Better Way To Get Projects Done.
Trusted by millions, Basecamp is the leading web-based project collaboration tool.”
Even our white-haired old guys can use it
“Just wanted to say our company with offices in Libertyville and Madison, WI has been using Basecamp for about six months and we can’t imagine life without it. It’s allowed us to do key projects with using both inside and outside employees, and even our white-haired old guys can use it.”
-Tom Riekse, Jr., LTCI Partners, LLC >>>>

Yes, this is yet another website to log in to in order to collaborate and manage this CC2009 process. This one differs from all the others in that it is ideally suited to easy deployment of critical data, deadlines, to do’s best practices and so on, in a secure centralized environment.

Example: You will find details about our American Legion outreach to 50 state HQ’s at this Basecamp Project Message: http://continentalcongress.basecamphq.com/projects/3594642/posts/24679532/comments

As we move forward, you will be rec’ing periodic updates via this Basecamp tool to your email box. As you receive these notifications you may contribute back to the project threads either by replying directly to the email or logging into the Basecamp tool via the provided link in the email notifications.

We will be using this tool to establish Milestones and Deadlines, as well as To Do’s for each State Coordinator so that upon completion by each SC, the BIG PICTURE calendar can be seen by all.

Here is a great resource to learn more about Basecamp and how it can make all of our collaborations more efficient, centralized and secure.

CC2009 Held at a Resort?

While considering my involvement with WTP.ORG, I have to wonder why the first CC meeting is being held at such a lavish Resort & Spa.
In the midst of a campaign to raise $2 million, it just seems their could be a less expensive alternative for WTP.ORG, as well as the delegates that will be attending.
I await your response!

We visited and negotiated with Colonial Williamsburg, the Constitution Center in Philadelphia, the Valley Forge Conference Center, Olympia Conference Center in Wisconsin, the Queensbury Hotel , Fort William Henry in Lake George NY, the Ramada Inn and Conference Center in Denver, and a few others. We negotiated very attractive rates at Pheasant Run. In addition, we needed their 2 mbs upload capability and 100% back up power generation. In addition, their  combination of the 340 seat hi-tech ampitheater for the presentations by the constitutional scholars and the large rooms for the delegates’ deliberations, discussions and debates fit our needs very nicely. Chicago is a transportation hub, which was attractive as well.
I could go on, but believe me, we investigated many alternatives after we put out a call for recommendations.

Mr. Schultz (sic),
Thank you for your response. It seems due diligence was done, and the final decision was based on sound economics.
